Job Description:
Exterior design assignments will range from complete exteriors to singular components such as front/rear designs, wheels, exterior lighting and graphics, etc. Reporting to a Design Manager or Sr Design Manger. The successful new employee will be assigned to the team that is most suited to his/her work interest and design style for one of many brands that continue to be reinvented and renewed.
Current design development tasks include approximately 40% work for this company’s partner brands outside of the US.
Position Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, or BS in Industrial, Product, or Automotive Design
• 1+ years of automotive product design experience and/or automotive internship experience
• Working knowledge of Alias, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to create both production and advanced design proposals while demonstrating exceptional design intuition
• Strong presentation and design communication skills.
• Ability to artistically represent their 2-D and 3-D concepts using a wide variety of presentation techniques, including manual/digital sketching, ALIAS, Photoshop and/or similar programs.
• Ability to work with a project team of technical engineers, clay sculptors and fabrication specialists
• Must possess an exceptional awareness of the global state of automotive design concepts and emerging design trends
• Submission of portfolio including samples of your most recent work -- emphasis on designs, sketches and finished products.

The Successful Candidate will have a “Passion for Powersports and the Design Profession”- needs to love to “ride” and “design”.
You will be working at the forefront of the creative requirement for products and constantly pushing the envelope. You will be responsible for the day-to-day creation and guidance of concepts and new product ideas.
You will provide drive and impetus to chosen programs; creating legitimate concepts that meet or exceed customers’ expectations as determined through VOC work done with Product/ Research Managers.
You will connect product description and product personality to the theme, endorse or follow a theme/design and, if selected, is that program’s champion.
Work towards creating a strong branded family look in each division under the direction of a multi-disciplinary product development team including members from engineering, manufacturing, finance, marketing and industrial design.
The expectation of every designer is that they can and will contribute a successful design to the company’s product portfolio of products. As all programs in the company start in Industrial Design, the expectation is that the new Employee will interact with staff at a level that permits good decision-making and communication of design intent to the company’s management.
Minimum Requirements:
A 4-year Industrial Design Degree from accredited and recognized design school
At least 5+ years of Industrial Design experience.
Peer-review experience a plus.
Strong verbal and visual communication skills.
Good team player.

This studio is part of the company’s global design network. Their primary mission is to research market trends and create vehicle designs that reflect US tastes as well as other global markets. They participate in a variety of project activities, including experimental concepts, advanced, competition and production design several of the company’s brands. These design solutions are often shared and developed in collaboration with other the company’s, planning, engineering and manufacturing groups internationally and the US.
This studio has an immediate opening for exceptional interior car designer for their growing Concept Design studio located in Michigan and their Advanced Concepts studio in Southern California. You will: Create, present and develop interior designs for the company’s North American models; Conduct research to support development and design concept; and Coordinate the development of 3D models.

Qualifications:
